The hydrotherapy pool/ spa will be a fantastic facility for people with profound learning disabilities to enjoy the health benefits of being in warm water.

The 5 are:

All of us are in training for the big day on 24 June. Some of us are starting from scratch – what a great effort!

Charity Event – Presenting Torbay Police and Community Choir and the Voicemale Choir

On Friday 6th April we were delighted to be entertained by the marvellous Torbay Police and Community Choir. They were joined by the tremendous harmonies of the Voicemale Choir.

We had a fantastic turn out and everyone spent a lovely evening among friends, both new and old. We sang, we clapped and we laughed. Together.

A sincere thank you to Preston Baptist Church for kindly allowing us the use of their venue and making us feel so welcome. Also for all of the members of the choirs and all of the wonderful volunteers who made the event such a success. Thank you also to everyone who attended and bought tickets, we were delighted to raise just shy of £1000 for our very worthwhile cause, namely a Spa Pool for Hollacombe Day Centre.

We are delighted that Torbay Police and Community Male Voice Choir, along with Voicemale Close Harmony Singers, are hosting a forthcoming charity event at Preston Baptist Church.

Torbay Adult Social Care Eligibility consultation – your views are important

Torbay Council, Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, and the Clinical Commissioning Group are proposing to change the way Adult Social Care is delivered in Torbay.

To make the change in delivery we will need to introduce a new eligibility criteria and an assessment process that focuses on short term wellbeing, early help and prevention as well as the acute and more intensive services. Whilst working with the adult, any carers and their family to identify what matters to them and how this can be met, we will consider the person’s own strengths and capabilities. This includes what support and help might be available from their wider support network or within the community as well as what services can do for them.

The  link below leads to  the Adult Social Care Eligibility consultation which closes on 9th February 2018. It’s important that as many people as possible contribute to the consultation and it would be great if you could share your views.
